Health Alert Regarding Celebrex, Bextra, and Aleve
Last September Vioxx, the number one prescription drug for arthritis, was taken off the market because it caused heart attacks and strokes. Recently three more studies have shown how dangerous these types of drugs can be. Consider the following three articles:

In summary these three articles are as follows.
Vioxx, Celebrex, and Bextra are all in the same family of drugs known as Cox-2 inhibitors. Recent studies have shown that like Vioxx, both Celebrex and Bextra also increase the risk of heart attacks and strokes. Of interest, this information has come to pass because studies were being conducted about the use of anti-inflammatory drugs to treat Alzheimer patients and in cancer prevention. It was during these studies that the link to heart attacks and strokes was discovered and therefore the studies terminated.
The third study deals with over the counter Naprosyn otherwise known as Aleve. Naprosyn, Motrin, and Ibuprofen all fall in the same category of drugs known as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID). These drugs are also known to be potentially harmful and therefore U.S. health regulators have now issued a formal warning that patients should not take these over the counter painkillers, especially Aleve, for more than ten days and should never exceed the recommended dose.
